New Beginnings

The holidays have a way of making you think about family and community.   I live in Edgemont, New York.  Edgemont is really a section in the town of Greenburgh.  Most people don’t even know where Edgemont is.   Edgemont does not have a town, library or community center.  Our community is defined by our school district.
I thought a way of forging a sense of community for everyone that lives here is to start a photo blog about Edgemont.  I hope that this blog with help the residents of Edgemont feel connected even if they are not students.

  7. I happen to be jewish and celebrate Hanukkah...with that being said i believe that only leaving up a picture of a christmas tree is highly offensive and i believe a simple jewish star on the page could take away the feeling of disgust i have towards this picture

  8. I see where you are coming from (the comment above). However, I do not feel that any people coming from a jewish background should be offended by this lovely picture. I feel that the blogger, Sarah, was trying to show her emotions in a very pacifistic way. She did not mean any harm against the jewish origin. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that, but please do not blame this innocent person of such a calamity, thank you.

  9. Well i happen to be african american so i am commenting to the comment above. As this jewish person has said, he believes a jewish star hsould be in the picture, i as an african american man, feel that there should be a black power hand sign somewhere as well. Sarah, it would make me feel a great appreciation towards you if you put that up. God Bless
